Lassen County Jail Facilities
The county jail system includes the main Adult Detention Facility on Sheriff Cady Lane and the Jail Annex on Chestnut Street. The main jail page reports a capacity of 156, average daily population of 120, and about 1,400 bookings per year. The 2023 RFP reports different figures, including 228 capacity and 2,022 bookings in 2022. The annex is listed separately by BSCC as a Type II facility with 40 beds and by the RFP as 20 double-occupancy cells.

Lassen County Booking Process
Official policy sources describe the custody process as formal intake rather than a simple name listing. A new arrival is received through Booking or Intake, identity and arrest paperwork are reviewed, property is inventoried, searches or body-scanner procedures may apply, and medical and mental-health screening occurs under custody policy topics. The inmate then receives orientation or handbook information and is classified for housing. Lassen's PREA and RFP sources describe pod and dorm-style housing, SHU cells, general-population dorms, female housing, outside worker housing, and the annex cells.
The Public Defender materials connect that booking process to court. After arrest, the District Attorney decides what charges to file in a complaint. County State and Federal Inmates
The county jail records path does not cover every incarcerated person in Lassen County. High Desert State Prison is a CDCR institution for sentenced state prisoners. FCI Herlong is a BOP facility for sentenced federal male offenders. ICE ODLS is used for immigration custody and no ICE detention facility was found in Lassen County. The official Lassen County Sheriff CA app appears in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Store text describes public-safety news, crime reporting, tip submission, and other interactive features.
